A processor, or "microprocessor," is a small chip that resides in computers and other electronic devices. Its basic job is to receive input and provide the appropriate output. While this may seem like a simple task, modern processors can handle trillions of calculations per second.
A processor, or CPU, is a circuit board inside a computer that executes instructions on behalf of programs. Modern computer processors can process millions of instructions in a second. Processors are considered the main chip on a computer.

A processor is a piece of hardware that interprets the instructions that drive a computer. Processors are the brains of a computer with good reason. Without a processor, computers could not run programs.

Processors are also called Central Processing Units (CPUs). Technically, there is more than one processor in a computer, such as a Graphics Processing Unit (GPU). But, the CPU is arguably the most important one.
The terms processor, central processing unit (CPU), and microprocessor are commonly linked as synonyms. Most people use the word “processor” interchangeably with the term “CPU” nowadays, it is technically not correct since the CPU is just one of the processors inside a personal computer (PC).


The Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) is another processor, and even some hard drives are technically capable of performing some processing.
The basic elements of a processor
The basic elements of a processor include:
  • The arithmetic logic unit (ALU), which carries out arithmetic and logic operations the operands in instructions. 

  • The floating-point unit (FPU), also known as a math coprocessor or numeric coprocessor, a specialized coprocessor that manipulates numbers more quickly than the basic microprocessor circuitry can.

  • Registers, which hold instructions and other data. Registers supply operands to the ALU and store the results of operations.

  • L1 and L2cache memory. Their inclusion in the CPU saves time compared to having to get data from random access memory (RAM).

It is much powerful to support games, but for PC, you should have a good Graphic card as well to play heavy games like GTA 5. The main features of these processors are:

Max Cache = 3MB
Lot cheaper

  • Intel i5 Processors


It is a quad-core processor, which means that it comes with 4 cores, with enabled Turbo Boost technology (it turns off the core when not in use). It does not support Hyper-Threading Technology. The cache range of these processors is from 3MB-8MB. The main features of these processors are:
Mid-range processor
Mid-range GPU
Turbo Boost Technology
2-4 cores
3-8 MB cache

  • Intel i7 Processors


It was first launched in 2009, with 4 cores and enabled Hyper-Threading Technology, which makes it act like an 8-core processor. It is a costly and super-powerful processor. It comes with 4-8MB of the cache. Main features of these processors are:

4 cores
8 threads
Turbo Boost enabled
Hyperthreading enabled
Super expensive
4-8MB cache

AMD Processors


  • AMD A4 Processor



Main features of these processors are:
2 cores
Include a Radeon Graphic Chip
Used for a low-end system.

  • AMD A6 Processor


Main features of these processors are:
Dual-core
Allow Turbo function
Integrated graphics

  • AMD A8 processors


It is comparable to i3 and low i5 processors. Main features of these processors are:
4 cores
Graphic part faster than Intel’s version
Can handle light gaming with ease

  • AMD A10 processors


Main features of these processors are:
4 processors comparable with i5
Better battery life
